Event Headshot Booths in Detroit

A staffed headshot booth rental for conferences, galas, staff events, and employee resource group gatherings — a photographer included, not equipment you run yourself.

$299 an hour, per photographer. Setup and breakdown are free, every photo is auto-retouched — adjustable in real time while the guest watches — and guests move through in minutes with a finished photograph the same day.

A real photographer, not AI. Every booth is staffed in person, lit with studio strobes, and running before your first guest arrives.

The Kindred Collective

For the Kindred Collective's tour of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, we ran a booth for the touring students and the staff leading them — finished headshots before the bus pulled out.

General Motors

Add a second photographer and we cover the reception while the booth runs the headshot line. We shot the floor at General Motors' gala during the Detroit Auto Show, celebrating the opening of their new headquarters at Hudson's Detroit.

What a headshot booth rental costs in Detroit

$299 an hour, per photographer. That is the whole rate — setup and breakdown are free, and auto-retouching is included, so there is no per-photo charge on top.

3-hour staff lunch
$897
5-hour half-day conference
$1,495
7-hour full conference day
$2,093

Booth retouching is automatic

Every photo is color corrected and cleaned up by software the moment the shutter closes, and the photographer can adjust the result in real time while the guest watches — brighten a frame, soften a shadow, reshoot if it is not right. Guests walk away with a finished photograph in about five minutes, and there is no per-photo charge on top of the hourly rate.

Scheduled team sessions get a different track: Andrew edits every frame by hand. If you already have a roster instead of a walk-up crowd, see corporate headshot sessions, priced per image.

Delivery

Three ways guests get their photos

Pick one method for the whole event, or offer more than one — most clients run the booth with all three available.

One shared gallery

Every photo posts to a single gallery link as we edit it. Share the link at check-in or in a follow-up email, and any guest can find their photo, browse the whole event, and download it.

Name and email at the booth

Each guest types their name and email into a tablet at the booth — no app, no login. Their retouched photo lands in their inbox the same day, addressed to them, without anyone digging through a shared folder.

Facial recognition

A guest can opt in with one tap, take a selfie, and get routed straight into a private gallery matched to their face. Their photos find them, sometimes before they've left the room. The selfie and its measurements are kept 30 days, never sold or shared, and deleted sooner on request.

What's Included

A real photographer on-site

Not a printed cutout, not a kiosk — a person running the booth for every hour you book.

Studio-quality lighting

The same strobes and backdrop we use in our Bagley Mansion studio, set up wherever your event is.

Free setup and breakdown

The hourly rate covers arrival to teardown — no separate setup fee.

Auto-retouching included

Every photo is color corrected and cleaned up automatically before it reaches the guest — and the photographer can adjust it live at the booth.

Same-day delivery

Photos are out the same day, by whichever delivery method your event uses.

No travel surcharge in metro Detroit

We come to you anywhere in the metro at the same flat hourly rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a booth rental, or do you bring the photographer?

+

Both — think of it as a staffed booth rental. You are not handed equipment to run yourself; a Detroit Photography photographer operates the booth for every hour you book, working the same lighting and backdrop for every guest. If you are comparing us to a self-serve kiosk, the photographer is the difference.

How fast does the booth move?

+

About five minutes a guest once the light is set, so one booth photographs roughly ten to twelve people an hour. For a bigger crowd at the door, add a second booth or a second photographer.

How do guests actually get their photos?

+

Three ways, and you can offer more than one at the same event: a single shared gallery everyone can browse, a name-and-email sign-in at the booth that emails each guest their own photo, or an opt-in facial recognition step that routes a guest straight into a private gallery matched to their face.

How far ahead do we need to book?

+

Two to four weeks for a typical corporate event, six to eight for a large gala or multi-day conference. We take last-minute bookings when the calendar allows — text 313-351-8244 for same-week availability.

Where can you set up, and what do you need from us?

+

We travel anywhere in metro Detroit at no extra charge and work with whatever space you have — a corner of a ballroom, a lobby, a conference room. We bring the backdrop, the lighting, and the tablet. All we need is a power outlet nearby and enough room for one photographer and a line of guests.

Is the auto-retouching the same as your hand-edited headshots?

+

No, and we tell clients that up front. Booth photos are retouched by software in seconds so a guest can walk away with a finished image the same visit. Scheduled team sessions are edited by hand, frame by frame, by Andrew — see corporate headshot sessions for that model.

Can you cover the rest of the event, not just the booth?

+

Yes. Add a second photographer and we cover the reception, the program, or the crowd while the booth runs the headshot line — the way we split coverage of the floor at General Motors' gala during the Detroit Auto Show. That roaming coverage is its own service, billed the same $299 an hour.

Have a roster instead of a walk-up crowd? See corporate headshot sessions. Want coverage without the booth — a gala, a reception, a conference floor? See event photography. Booking specifically for a conference? See conference headshots.
