Why the morning rate exists
Bagley Mansion was built in 1869 with its long side facing east. The tall original windows catch the first warm hour of sun, and the room glows for about two hours before the light climbs above the roofline. We schedule our best work in that window because the studio rarely produces a flattering frame as easily as it does at 9:30 AM.
East windows do the work
Morning sun enters at a low angle and bounces off the plaster ceiling. The result is soft directional light that wraps around the face, with no flash needed and almost no retouching required.
The calendar is calm
Weekday mornings are the studio's quietest hours. The phone is not ringing, the parking is open in front of the building, and a 9 AM client is in and out before traffic builds on Jefferson.
Same-day edits
A morning shoot lands on the editing desk by lunch. Most morning clients receive their two retouched images by 5 PM the same day, which means a 9 AM session can update your LinkedIn before dinner.

- The 9 AM to 11 AM window is the studio's quietest hours and its best natural light. Bagley Mansion faces east, so the morning sun fills the room through tall original windows. Filling that window costs less than filling a Saturday afternoon, and we pass the savings along.
- What does the morning session include?
- One photographer, the Bagley Mansion studio, live tethered review on a large monitor, and two final retouched images delivered the same day. Each additional image is $99. The shoot itself runs about thirty minutes.
- How early can I book?
- The first morning slot opens at 9 AM and the last morning slot starts at 10:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Same-week availability is common because the morning calendar usually stays open. Text 313-351-8244 if you need a slot in the next 24 hours.
- Where is the studio?
- The studio sits inside the Bagley Mansion at 2921 E Jefferson Ave in Detroit, a few blocks east of downtown. Parking is on the street directly in front of the building.
- Will I work directly with the photographer?
- Yes. Andrew Petrov runs every session himself. You text the photographer to book, you shoot with the photographer, and you get your edits from the photographer.
- What should I wear?
- Bring two or three options in solid colors that match your industry. Avoid loud patterns and logos. We will pick the strongest combination together at the start of the session, and you can switch tops mid-shoot for variety.
