Detroit Architect

Elijah E. Myers1832–1909

Elijah E. Myers was the most prolific American state-capitol architect of the nineteenth century. He designed the Michigan, Texas, and Colorado state capitols. The Michigan State Capitol in Lansing is his best-known surviving work; his Detroit commissions — Harper Hospital and the Parsons House — are his more intimate residential and institutional manner.
