Photos that read as "you"
Three to five outfits, two locations (studio plus a Detroit exterior), natural expressions guided in real time. The goal is the smile you actually make, not the one you make when a camera is pointed at you.
Same-day preview, full gallery in 48 hours
You leave the session with a curated set of phone-ready images already on AirDrop — pick a new main photo on the drive home. Final retouched gallery delivered within 48 hours, sized for every app.
$149 in studio, $299 on location
In-studio sessions at the Bagley Mansion start at $149 for the first edited image, $99 per additional. On-location sessions (Belle Isle, Eastern Market, the Riverwalk, your favorite bar at golden hour) are $299 for the first image, $149 per additional. Real photographer, not an app.
A private kind of session
Dating profile shoots are private by request. Client photos from these sessions do not appear in the public portfolio. We can share comparable examples by email after you book a consultation. The lighting, posing, and editing approach we use for dating-app-ready headshots is the same one we apply to LinkedIn, press, and editorial portraits.
Examples are shared one-on-one during a consultation. Email or text us at (313) 351-8244.
Common questions
- Will the photos look like dating photos, or like LinkedIn?
- Different shoot, different output. Dating sessions favor natural light, outdoor backdrops, looser clothing, and softer expressions. LinkedIn sessions favor studio light, suits, and direct-to-camera confidence. Book a dating session and we'll shoot accordingly—five outfits, two locations, smiling on purpose.
- How many photos do I get, and how should I sequence them on Hinge?
- You'll get 30 to 60 edited images. For Hinge specifically, the format that converts best is: full-body opener showing your build, then a clean head-and-shoulders close-up at #2, then a candid-feel "doing something" shot at #3, then a group shot or pet shot at #4 to show social proof. We sort the gallery by Hinge slot during the session so you don't have to guess.
- What about AI headshot generators—wouldn't those be cheaper?
- Cheaper, yes. Effective on dating apps, no. Hinge and Tinder users spot AI faces inside one second—the giveaways are the over-smoothed skin, the slightly-wrong hands, and the absence of any real background. Three of our recent clients booked us after pulling their AI photos because their match rate dropped. A real shoot is $149.
- I'm a private person. Do you publish my photos?
- No, unless you explicitly opt in. Default is that nothing leaves the gallery. Roughly two-thirds of our dating-session clients ask us not to post the work; the portfolio above is the third who said yes.
- What should I wear to a dating shoot?
- Three to five outfits ranging from a fitted t-shirt or sweater up to one slightly-dressy look (button-down, blazer, or a dress you actually wear out). Skip logos, busy patterns, and anything you haven't worn in a year. Solid colors and well-fitting basics outperform expensive outfits every time. We send a full style guide when you book.
- Can you shoot outside in Detroit, not just in studio?
- Yes—the $299 on-location rate covers Belle Isle, the Riverwalk, Eastern Market, the DIA steps, the Dequindre Cut, Campus Martius, or wherever you'd plausibly be on a Saturday afternoon. Outdoor shots almost always become the main profile photo because they look the least staged.
